Farmers Empowerment Campaign at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh
A Farmer’s Empowerment Campaign was launched at Ganesh Enjora in Madhya Pradesh by the local Brahma Kumaris with the co-operation of the State Government. The object is to educate the farmers about Yogic farming and the advantages of it. This campaign started in Sagar and is proceeding towards Panna.
BK Sumanth from the Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters in Mount Abu said that first of all we must connect with God; if not, how is cultivation possible? He is the bestower of good yield from the farm. Farmers are Annadata. They provide food to all of mankind. They cannot sow poison and give poison to eat. We must be determined to eat only pure healthy food. Why should we repent later? He said that we must put an end to the differences of Castism, Racism and Nationalism. He said, “We have forgotten the original qualities of earth. All the resources to make the soil fertile are available in cow dung. To save the earth from poisonous effects Farming has to be done through the Power of Yoga. Our slogan is “Not to Kill and be Killed” but “Live and let Live“. Being a farmer we must have knowledge of helpful and harmful pests. Earlier 5% urine of cow was being sprinkled on the crops for pest control. 2% of Neem (Margo) oil can also be used for pest control and save the loss of yield. He said that through Raja Yoga practice the 5 elements also are empowered.
Mr. Alok Kumar Singh, Collector, said that we are increasing the yield from the farm but at the same time we are exhausting the earth’s nutritional strength. Due to greed of earning money, man ignored the ancient Indian traditional farming system. He said, “I congratulate the Brahma Kumaris Organisations for their praiseworthy campaigning.”
Mr. Pradeep Lariya, MLA, said that in the race of modernisation we must not forget our ancient traditions. He said that today it is necessary to make India a World Teacher once again.
Mr. K.S. Yadav, Agricultural Scientist, said that at present Science needs help from Spirituality. Earlier Science and Spirituality were like two faces of one single coin.
Mr. Avdhesh Kumar, District Agricultural Officer, said that this is a very motivational and commendable job that the Brahma Kumaris are doing to inspire peasants to adopt Yogic Farming by using Organic manures. He said, “One must give importance to life, animals, water and earth”.
