A National Media Conference was organised by the Brahma Kumaris, Gulmohar Colony Center in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). Many senior Editors and Journalists from all over the country came to attend the Conference which was held at CEDMAP Auditorium.
Rajayogi BK Karuna, Managing Trustee of the Brahma Kumaris Organisation and the Chief of the Media Wing at Mount Abu, was specially invited to address the Conference. In his Presidential note he said, “Today, since moral values are lacking in Man, we can’t imagine a value-based society. No school or college is teaching values which were taught earlier at Gurukuls. Presently the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is teaching ancient Indian culture through Value Education to all of mankind. It is high time that Media should co-operate with them.”
Chief Guest Mr. Vishwas Sarang, State Minister of Public Relations, Madhya Pradesh, said, “Since long [time], debate is going on to create a better society. This program is arranged by Brahma Kumaris because they know that only Media is capable of doing that. But Media is busy in correcting the Politicians. It is least bothered about the society. In this regard Brahma Kumaris are praiseworthy. Such programs should be held regularly.”
Mr. A.K. Singh, senior TV Editor from Delhi said, “Media and people both have neglected their responsibilities towards improvement of society.” He said that Values are of two types. One is inner divine values of Peace, Love, Bliss and Cooperation etc. The other one keeps changing as per the situation. He said, “Media has got to change its News Character. It must minimize the political reporting that is of no avail. It must focus now on economical issues.” He said that there are 3.30 crores of legal laws in the world, even then offences are going up.” Lastly he said, “Moral values evolve from Mother’s lap. The greatest Value in the world is: never deviate from Truth.”
Well-experienced senior Journalist and National Co-ordinator of Value Based Media Abhikram Samithi, Professor Kamal Dixit, said that in creating a good society Media can play a major active role. It has to be a Guide. It must emerge its intrinsic strength.
Mr. Dipti Tiwari said that the Media is in the race of Television Rating Point (TRP).  It has now become a Data World.
Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Mr. Pushpendra Pal Singh said that awareness has demolished the faith of people in Media. It’s now that the change in society is highly needed.
Mr. Shiv Anurag Pateria said that the society is getting addicted to Social Media and it’s very difficult to escape its influence.
BK Reena welcomed all the participants who came from across the country. She guided everyone in experiencing peace of mind by demonstrating practically a Raja Yoga meditation.
In the closing session Mr. Alok Sanjar, MP from Bhopal, said that everyone in society — Media, Politicians, People and Administrators — have their own roles to perform. We forget the good in life very quickly but never anything bad; we keep on lamenting.
Others who presented their views were Madhukar Dwivedi, Mahesh Dixit, Vinod Naagar, Devendra Joshi, Katyayini Chaturvedi, Satish Eliya, Radhavallabh and Mamta Yadav.
BK Sushant, the Brahma Kumaris’ Media Wing National Co-ordinator in Delhi, was very inspirational.
After the inaugural launch by lighting the lamps by the guests, Kumari Sri performed a graceful dance in honour of the participants, and at the end Kumari Dolly performed one more dance for the pleasure of all the guests and the audience. During the session BK Rucha guided all to perform musical exercises to boost their morale.
