"Victory over Diabetes" Event by Brahma Kumaris of Nirsa

Keeping in mind that presently the whole world is in the grip of Diabetes which is becoming the cause of serious concern for Cardiac arrests, Hypertension, Stroke and Cancer etc., due to which many people are loosing their lives, India in particular having the largest number of patients suffering from Diabetes, the Brahma Kumaris of Nirsa branch in Jharkhand, organised an Awareness Camp in the campus of Punjabi Milan Gurudwara.
The Chief Invitee was BK Dr. Srimanth Kumar Sahoo, profound diabetologist and Holistic Care Physician and Director from Global Hospital and Research Centre, Brahma Kumaris (HQ) Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Along with him there were Mr. Arup Chatterji, MLA from Nirsa, Jharkhand, BK Pramila, Durgapur Centre in Charge and Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bauri, Block Development Officer who inaugurated the Camp by lighting the candles.
Dr. Avantika presided over the program. She introduced Dr. Srimanth Kumar to the audience. He said, “Now a days the cases of Diabetes have become very common, Mainly in India high diabetic patients are more than anywhere in the world”. He said, “As per the survey more than 10 lakhs are dying annually. That is in every 6 seconds 1 person is loosing his life”. He said, “Control of Diabetes is not impossible. It requires commitments to follow strictly to keep it at bay”.He stated that 1. Annual blood check up must be done. 2. Early morning walk and light physical exercises must be done. 3. One must stop eating junk food outside. 4. The cool drinks must be avoided. 5. Taking liquors and non-vegetarian food and smoking is very harmful. 6. Early morning walk and light physical exercise must be regularly done. 7. Raja Yoga meditation and breathing exercise must be practiced. 8. Try to be tension free and positive in life”.
He said that Brahma Kumaris are striving to change every person one by one because when everyone gets changed then the whole world gets transformed automatically. He further said that this Organisation has so far in 3 years could successfully conduct more than 200 such awareness programs.
