Inauguration of All India Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development in Gyan Sarovar, Mount Abu

The Brahma Kumaris with the Rural and Agricultural Wing of Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation jointly organised a conference at Gyan Sarovar, Mount Abu, to enlighten farmers on the topic “Light of Knowledge and Science, Traditional Farming and Development.”
Delegates from various places in India and from Nepal came to attend this conference in large numbers and the first day of this retreat was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamps by the guests.
Rajyogini BK Nirmala, Director of Gyan Sarovar, Mount Abu, said in her speech that in the following three days they will learn ways to improve the condition of the farmers and about the benefits of Yogic Farming. The advantages of Yogic Farming have been known to Indian farmers for a long time, but they are not aware that Yogic Cultivation can bring all-round progress in their lives. In this method, vibrations of positive thoughts are spread on the crops, which can then yield high-quality farm products that give us good health and can purify our minds as well.
Rajyogini BK Sarala, Chairperson, Rural Development Wing of Mount Abu, said, “Yogic Cultivation is the only way to make India clean and golden. We will teach and train you all regarding Yogic Farming. Today eliminating violence from society is very essential. No farmer will commit suicide after getting the knowledge and training in cultivating through Yoga.”
Mr. Sadabhau Khot, Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture and Marketing, Government of Maharashtra, was the Chief Guest. He said, “The efforts of Brahma Kumaris to encourage farmers to adopt new Yogic Farming simultaneously with Organic Farming is commendable. Today many wonderful facts were given to the audience from this platform.” He said, “Today the farmers are suffering mainly due to the society and the politicians.” He said that at the time of independence 80% of the Indian population were farmers, organic farming was prevalent, but the hunger of all the 40 crores could not be satisfied. Whereas today, 120 crores are satisfied but the farmer is not able to live even like a peon. So, first of all, we must think and do something to improve their living conditions and save them from committing suicide.
Mr. Santosh Jain, Vice President, Cows and Animal Husbandry Board of Madhya Pradesh, said, “Cows’ food is in the fields and the resources for the fields are with the cows. Gokul village cannot be there without cows. So Organic and Yogic farming is the only remedy for India’s progress. For this, the activities of Brahma Kumaris are duly praiseworthy.”
BK Karuna, Chairperson of Media Wing, Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters, said on this occasion, “We must all pay due attention to the Law of Action or Karma – Farming of Actions. At this Spiritual School, the secret ways of cultivating the fruits of excellent actions are taught. To know and perform such supreme activities, practice of Raja Yoga is very essential. Every village must have at least one family practicing Raja Yoga by which success will follow thereafter.”
Mr. A.K. Mishra, Chancellor, G. V. Panth Agricultural University, said, “Today the field of agriculture has progressed very wonderfully but the farmers’ condition is deteriorating simultaneously. Unless we bring improvement in their lives, the world will never become a Gokul village. If the farmers are taught the value addition to their farm products, their condition will be better.”
Rajyogi BK Raju, Vice Chairperson of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing at the Head Quarters, welcomed all the guests and the delegates of the day.
Rajyogini BK Sunanda, National Co-ordinator of the Rural Development Wing said, “Knowledge itself is light and might but we also believe that today’s man is distracted in the darkness of ignorance and wants to come out of it. People are praying to God to give them the light of knowledge. What is that true knowledge? That’s Raja Yoga meditation. It is Science, Serenity and Silence. By that mental aberrations will vanish and situations will improve.
Mr. Badri Vishal Tiwari, Associate Director, Agricultural Directorate, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, as a Main Speaker about traditional farming, said, “Balaram and Krishna are the role model of agriculture and animal husbandry. In their period everything was very beautiful but the farming with chemical fertilizers changed everything in our country. When we compare the present situation with that in 1951, the consumption of chemicals in farming has gone up by 150% . That is alarming for health; as a result sickness and diseases have increased. Moreover, that is being bought from abroad at a very high cost which is causing heavy loss of foreign exchange. Otherwise, it could have been very useful for developing our society. The remedial answer for all this is, once again, we must re-adopt our ancient way of organic cultivation. By this mental pollution will get erased. Research must be conducted more in this aspect.”
Rajyogini BK Trupti, National Co-ordinater, Agriculture and Rural Development Wing, also addressed the gathering. BK Gita from Bhinmal presided the inaugural function.
