Free Yoga Camps by Brahma Kumaris in Davangere, Karnataka
Yoga is an ancient Indian technique for maintaining a balance in the mind and the body. It has a great bearing on one’s mindfulness and how one relates to one’s own body. It is a beautiful blend of posture, breathing, meditation and good living. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Davangere chapter of the Medical Wing, of the Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF), conducted a series of twenty free Yoga camps for the benefit of the public. This series of camps was inaugurated on May 21st, 2018, by Dr. Prabhudev, Nodal Officer, AYUSH Department, Davangere District; Mr. Vasudev Raikar, Secretary, District Yoga Union; Mr. Ashok R Undi, State Best Teacher Awardee; Mr. Siddramanna, Retired Principal; and Mrs. Umadevi A C, a university lecturer.
People participated in large numbers, and the organizers witnessed people of all age groups, benefitting from the teachings of Neelappa Ji, a renowned Yoga Guru in Davangere. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the camp and look forward to attending the whole series of twenty free Yoga camps, open for all, which will continue until the International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21st every year. BK Leela, Center In-charge of Davangere, facilitated a creative meditation session for all the participants which uplifted the atmosphere and was appreciated by all the attendees.
This one month of fitness, well-being and positivity being spread through Yoga camps is set to create a mark in the lives of the people of Davangere, as it is a treasured art and one can practice it without any equipment, unlike many other expensive fitness techniques.
