Mr. Ramesh Bhandari, District Collector; Mrs. Archana Singh, Municipal Chairman; Mr. B.K. Mourya, Upper Collector; and BK Shailaja, Centre in Charge, Chhatarpur, commenced a program organised by the Brahma Kumaris at various places in the town of Chhatarpur. More than 300 BK members of the Godly University assembled at the Chhatrasal Square area and joined hands in a huge human chain. Their aim was to enlighten people through banners and a pictures exhibition about the damages caused by addictions. They educated people about health hazards that result from the habits of smoking and chewing tobacco, gutkha, and drinking liquor. They helped people understand how financial imbalance and ill effects may take place on the future young generation due to these lustful habits.
In this series of activities held yesterday, more than 500 people visited and benefitted by the exhibition that was set up at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Inter State Bus Stand.
Addiction, like termites, is leaving the society hollow. The habits of intoxication are destroying the energies of our new generation of youths and provocating them towards violence and destructive activities. Accidents and immoral acts in the society are increasing due to these intoxicating habits. In order to liberate the society from these harmful habits, the Government is also trying their best. As a part of this effort, the District Collector invited all Government and non-Government bodies to participate in the vast Human Chain program. Honouring his invitation, BK members also came forward and joined in the campaign.
All these programs were arranged and conducted under the guidance of Centre in Charge BK Shailaja, BK Madhuri, BK Rama, BK Monica, BK Kamala, BK Rajni, BK Kalpana, BK Sulekha and BK Rekha.
