Hindi Journalism Day celebrated at Hathras (UP)

As literature is said to be the mirror of a society so is the journalism ‘the fourth pillar of any stable democracy’. A journalist works hard day and night only to highlight the social and political ills prevailing at that time. In the same manner he has the responsibility of bringing to the fore the good and leading lights in different spheres of the present day life. This was the theme of Brahmakumari Sister Urmila’s theme of address which she made on the occasion of the ‘Hindi Journalism Day’ on May 30 on the topic “Journalism: New Challenges, Struggle, Tension & Spiritual Solution”
The function was organized by the Anandpuri Colony Centre of Brahmakumaris at Hathras at the Town Hall of the Municipal Corporation. It was enthusiastically participated by most of the journalists of the district.
The programme began with the ritual Tilak and the candle lighting in which some of the participants were Mr. S. Chauhan Upper District Commissioner, Chairman of the Municipal Corporation Ashish Sharma, Corporation Administrator Swadesh Arya, Brahmakumari Sister Urmila. A spiritual song and dance accompanied with a poem on ‘Save the Daughter, Empower Her’.
The chief speaker of the day BK sister Urmila highlighted the theme with many contextual instances. The President of the Journalist Association Mr. Mahesh Chandel felicitated BK Urmila Ji and Chairman of the Minicipal Corporation. Mr. Ashish Sharma appreciated the journalist sisters and the BK sisters for their enlightening socio-spiritual work. Addressing the media-persons he reminded them of their responsibility of highlighting the genuine and the socially useful and progressive.
Brahmakumari Sister Shanta Behan thanked the participants and the audience for their enthusiastic response and cooperation. On this occasion quite a few singers and poets expressed their appreciation of the role of media in the contemporary society. The print and the electronic media were represented by their respective by their journalists, photographers, editors, reporters etc. Many of the Brahmakumars and Kumaris all made their positive and healthy contribution to the success of the programme.
