Janmashtami was celebrated at Om Shanti Retreat Centre in Gurugram, Delhi, by the Brahma Kumaris with a lot of splendour.
Various events of Lord Sri Krishna’s life were presented through live performances on the stage by young artists. Thousands of people from far-off places thronged to see and enjoy the presentations to their heart’s content. For example, Sri Krishna with Rukmini and Satyabhama, Butter Stealing, Conversation between Arjun and Sri Krishna on the battle field of Mahabharat, Meeting with Sudama, Lost in Ecstasy swinging in Love of Sri Krishna etc., were some of the special attractions. In other shows, Crocodile Cave and Pushpak Viman (Pilotless Plane) were very special events that drew a good crowd who enjoyed the show. Inside the Cave of Crocodile there were Shiva and Krishna Temples built. Visitors were waiting in long queues to have glimpses of these shows. The entire area was beautifully and colourfully decorated and illuminated with lights. The whole atmosphere was reverberating with Divinity and Joy.
The function was commenced by lighting the inaugural lamps by BK Asha, Director of Om Shanti Retreat Centre at Gurugram in Delhi, and other invited Dignitaries.
BK Asha said, “Today we are feeling so happy and blissful on watching these live performances of some of the special events of Sri Krishna’s life on stage by talented young artists. But how Blissful, Great and Joyful that Company of Sri Krishna would have been when He was alive.” She said, “We must become inspired from these live performances to inculcate the Divine Qualities of Sri Krishna in our lives too. In fact the Qualitative Characters only render our life Great and Memorable. In order to make our lives like Sri Krishna’s, we must see that we develop Mercy, Forgiveness, Benevolence and our Heart full of Love and Best Wishes for all in life.”
