"Peace in the Park" Community Event in Central Park, New York
“Bringing Communities Together” with Artistic Performances, Relaxing Moments, Conscious eating, Kid-friendly activities, Games, Meditation etc., the Brahma Kumaris of New York organised a “Peace in the Park” event in Central Park Naumburg Bandshell, an internationally prestigious venue in New York City.
Peace in the Park (PIP) is in its 9th year and has taken on a whole new dynamic as a number of community organizations participated, with many NGOs including: Yoga in Daily Life, International Day of Yoga Committee at the UN, Yoga for Kids, Virtual Reality Mystics, March for Our Lives, Legion of Good Will, Peacefully Rooted, Aum Shanti Bookshop, Rama Chandra Mission, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, Only the Source, Aashsawan Sciences, and Body & Brain Tai Chi, who graced the event with their presence.
The afternoon was accented with the melodious music by Junia Flavia, TWNY Music Guild; singing by Nicholas Sattinger, Michelle DellaFave, Dian Killian, and Sharaanya Pillai; dancing from the NYC Bhangra and the Natya Anubhava Academy; and chanting by the World Yoga Community. There was even a short Interfaith participation, which included Dr. Neeta Jain of the Jain Community, Rabbi Rivera, and Qalvy of the Shinnoy Center who led a ‘self-centered’ walking meditation.
The Chief of the Brahma Kumaris in the Americas and the Caribbean, BK Mohini Panjabi, delivered an inspiring message for peace and led a powerful guided meditation.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life joined this peace party and soaked up the good vibrations of peace, unity, and good will towards all. Even Mother Nature blessed us with glorious weather. Many shared how calming, relaxed, and refreshing it was just being there. The event was covered by TV Asia.
Peace in the Park is an initiative that started 9 years ago by a small group of kind-hearted individuals who came together to start raising awareness of compassion, love, and care for each other and the world. There is no better place to do this initiative but in Central Park, the heart of New York City, which is the heart of the world. The Peace in the Park team has made it their life’s purpose to create the world as a better place. These individuals work with the Brahma Kumaris, an international organization that promotes well-being through meditation.
