Brahma Kumaris Serve the Disabled in Nagore
The “Divyang Seva (Service of the Handicapped) Department” of the Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, organised a one-day program at the Free Residential School for the Blind, Deaf and Dumb in Nagore.
Generally such people, deprived of these three organs in the world, feel isolated and depressed. So it is necessary to do something to boost their morale high, to make them strong and self-confident mentally.
Having such a noble thought, this program was launched by Mr. Murali Manohar, the Chairman of this Free Residential School, with the Brahma Kumaris.
BK Anita, Brahma Kumaris Centre in Charge in Nagore; Mr. Murali Manohar, the Chairman of the School; BK Suryamani, Co-ordinator of Divyang Seva from Mount Abu; and BK Patel were there to conduct the service.
BK Anita welcomed all the children of the School with her hearty sweet blessings for their successful happy future.
BK Suryamani said that Spiritual Knowledge is very essential to make our Mind and Intellect stable and strong. That develops Will Power and Self-confidence, with which any kind of physical disability will not remain as a hurdle in our way to success in life.
BK Ashok Patel explained about having the knowledge of the Self. He said that every one of us must know the answers to the questions, “Who am I?” “What is the purpose of my life?” that is, we must have Self-realization and then one must have some aim in life. To help them understand well, he showed on a screen some entertaining pictures through the projector which were helpful to impart the required knowledge very easily and interestingly for the deaf and dumb. For the blind children, he used Special Dimensional Pictures and Braille Writings to help them understand the subject by touching them with their fingers.
Mr. Murali Manohar extended his gratitude to the Brahma Kumaris and their “Divyang Service” team members.
Lastly before closing, all those present were served Toli (sweet) and fruits. All the children felt very good, enthusiastic and showed great interest.
