Five-Day Spiritual Meditation Sessions in Jamaica, Caribbean Islands
BK Atam Prakash, Senior Rajayogi from Mount Abu, was on a Caribbean tour for spiritual service organized by the Brahma Kumaris. The five-day program in Jamaica — in Kingston, Ocho Rios, and Montego Bay — included spiritual classes, meditation sessions, and meetings with eminent people.
In Kingston, BK Atam Prakash and BK Paul met with Mr. Roger Williams of ‘Rajah With The World Band’. He also met with Conrad Miller, the Mechanical Engineer at the Electrical Power Company in Jamaica, and discussed practicing yoga on a daily basis. BK Atam Prakash also attended a public program organized at Club India. A powerful class on “Meditation and its Benefits” was orated by BK Atam followed by meditation under his guidance.
The journey at Ocho Rios began with a collective Amrit Vela meditation conducted by BK Atam with the support of Sister Bharti and Brother Paul. This was followed by Murli class and 10 tips for “How to make Amrit Vela Powerful”. A few of these effective tips included: Start preparing yourself the night before by having a light meal and Baba’s remembrance before going to the bed. Sleep in Baba’s lap with a lot of love by thanking him for the day. Do not meditate sitting on your bed where you slept for the whole night, because those vibrations could easily pull you to sleep. If needed, take a walk for 15 minutes, then sit and do meditation. He met with BK Harish Lachmandas and his wife, BK Shalini Latchmandas. BK Harish was one of the directors of the Brahma Kumaris in Jamaica before leaving Kingston and moving to the city of Ocho Rios, his current service place.
BK Atam then visited Montego Bay Centre. A mini spiritual concert public program was held at the Country Club in Mango Walk. The music group dedicated the song “Keep The Faith” written and sung by BK Roger. BK Atam explained meditation methodology and how to maintain the continuation of meditation on a daily basis.
Overall it was a successful and very well-organized program in Jamaica.
